Update from Technyflex-Sponsored Andrew Cooper

April was an extremely busy month for Cooper Performance Horses with an event on just about every weekend.
The first weekend in April saw us head off to Albury International Horse Trials. I had 5 horses entered with Evergem Perfection in the 3*, Reduction and Toronto in the 2* and Hunters Hill and Waitangi White in the 1*. Evergem Perfection had a steady event where he finished 19th in a large field. Reduction did a PB in the dressage arena and only added a rail to his score to finish up in 7th place. Things didn't go to plan in the show jumping arena with Toronto, seeing way too many rails on the ground resulting in a place at the bottom of the leader board. Waitangi White and Hunters Hill both jumped well to finish on their dressage scores in 6th and 7th place, respectively.

Two weeks later we were back on the road to Camden. I had four horses entered, Evergem Perfection in the 3*, Reduction and Toronto in the 2* and Hunters Hill in the 1*. Evergem Perfection did a good test, but unfortunately had 3 down in the show jumping arena, luckily he finished off with an amazing xc round over a really tough track. He added a few time penalties to finish in 7th place. Toronto did a great test and was lying in 3rd position. He improved in the jumping arena with only three rails down and then did a great xc round to finish the event in 13th position. Reduction didn't score as well as I would have liked in the dressage, which had him sitting at the bottom end of the scoreboard. He added a rail and a few time faults to his final score. Hunters Hill was a little electric in the dressage arena, however still managed a decent score. He then finished on this in 5th place.

The following weekend I headed off to Heytsbury HT with three horses. Superfine Spider in the 2*, Kensington II in the EVA 105 and Buchanan in the EVA 80. Spider handled himself really well for his first 2 star event. He just added a rail and some time faults to his dressage score to finish in 6th place. Kensington II jumped well, however a poor dressage test resulted in a place lower down on the scoreboard. Buchanan was lying in 3rd place after dressage and added nothing to this to finish the event in 3rd place.

The following Tuesday we headed off to Sydney International Horse Trials with Evergem Perfection in the CCI***, Waitangi White in the CCI*, and Hunters Hill in the CIC*. Unfortunately, with the absolutely tragic accident that took the life of a beautiful young girl, the event was cancelled and we all left with heavy heads. I would like to take another opportunity to send my deepest condolences to Caitlyn's friends and family. #RideOnCaitlynFisher.
